Yes
:D So I haven't had a DSLR for a while, in fact since 2007 when I sold my 20d + 50mm f1.8 + sigma 17-70 :(

I have just purchased a 70d and 50mm f1.8 and I am in need of a walkabout / general purpose lens. From what I remember I liked the range of the 17-70 and never really desired anything longer.

What i am looking for is (1st) good image quality and (2nd) good low light / no flash performance and I could go up to £500 for the right one.
Please help me decide :help:

well theres the sigma 17-70os, canon 15-85 to start you off

I recently purchased the 18-135 stm and have not been dissapointed

general walkabout on a cropper.......

EF-S 15-85 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM if the extra bit of reach is most important.

If you want a faster aperture then the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM is a quality lens.

If you cannot afford a Canon 24-105 lens then then 15-85 makes a very good alternative. I was very pleased with mine on the 7D only selling it to upgrade to the 24-105. I would recommend this over any of the budget lenses.

15-85 is a cracker! I used it on my 60d! Currently using sigma 17-50 f2.8 on my 70d which is also a belter!!

The Canon 15-85 gets good reviews and a good following (as above), the Canon 17-55 is supposed to be a belter of a lens and an L series in all but name and no red ring...

£500 would certainly buy you the 24-105 Canon L lens and I would say a perfect walk about on your 70D,why don't you go to your local camera shop and try the above and the 24-105 and maybe you can then decide.

1st impressions are - very impressed. Only taken a hand full of shots but from what I see are very nice sharp images :ty::jaffa:
