My dad is looking to buy a new TV and it's that long since I bought mine I can't remember the best place to look for information and recommendations.

He wants one no bigger than 32" with built in freeview.

Any help or recommendation appreciated.

get a seperate free view box my mate has a built in one and the box is shafted takes half hour to warm up and he can not use the freeview untill it has warmed up very bizare all other chanels work just not the free view part at least he can chage it if it does go wrong

pc world had some good deals on i got a nice 37 inch samsung 1080 p with good res too for £520 which was a great deal compared to some with the same spec for £700

If he's not too bothered about it being this year's latest model, I would suggest looking at Richer Sounds.

Go for the new LED TVs, they look the tits! Lol

Go with the avatar, he can get a 32" toshiba from Tesco for £400

Take a look at John Lewis, they have a clearance sale on just now, plus you get a 5 year warranty.....

Worth checking Sony centre too, they were doing some good deals with 5 year as well.

Are there any particular models to look at or stay clear of.

Sony, Samsung and Panasonic are probably the leading brands. Best you can do is narrow the options down by price and spec. then read online reviews and even better view them for yourself somewhere like Curry's or Dixon's and make a decision that's right for you. There's lots of information out there and some very helpful forums too.

Just bought a Samsung 50" plasma (last years' model I guess...) for 760€...digital decoder built-in...free speakers thrown in...

It's big...very big...
