Yes
I can't make up my mind which one to choose , which would you go for ??

Canon 100mm F2.8L Macro IS USM or the Sigma F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro

Read about and looked at cracking pics of both , i keep moving from one to the other , so over to you lot for some ideas.

Cheers

Steve

You certainly can't go wrong with Canon. Mine is crazy sharp, lightning fast AF and great IS.

Any issues with the "plastic" body though , i must say some of the pics ive seen it certainly seem impressive but then again so are some from the Siggy which comes with a nice case and tripod mount and has that extra bit of reach...

But then again i love the 70-300 L IS USM ive already got and i keep coming back to the Canon......ggrrrrrrrrr

Cheers

I've been using my canon 100L macro a lot this year and never even noticed it was plastic rather than metal. I've used it with a ring flash and extension tubes or a teleconverter and there's no issue with the build or feel of the lens.

The Sigma 105mm, Tamron 90mm, and Canon 100mm are all fantastic lenses that are all equally sharp according to reviews. In the end I got the Canon because one came up second hand at a very reasonable price but I think you will be happy with any of them.

Yes agree ive got the Canon 100L and the older version of the sigma both really great lenses
I went for the Canon as the IS is amazing it gives 2 stops at 1:1 distance :)

It's a nightmare, isn't it? :D

I finally "settled" with the non-OS version of the Sigma and decided to get the longer 150mm for more reach.
OS doesn't really make sense for macro and there's a hefty weight price (and price!)... and IQ is somewhere reported to be "better"...

Still no regrets and can only recommend it.
