which lens

hi guys could anyone help, i have a canon 350d which i love and still getting used to but need a good lens for wild birds i have at the moment a tamron 70-300mm,but need to get closer can anyone suggest one,new to camera and the bug that has bitten sooooooooooo hard.the tamron is really slow or is it meany help please thanks, lanie

Hello,

What budget do you have? Above 300mm tends to be costly, or you could get another upto 300mm that would be a better lens with faster focusing and a faster aperture.

I'm in the same position as you , I've been looking at sigma 500 mm lens still just above my budget so my 2 x kenko converter will have to do until funds increase
