Fixed as in - it can't be removed and replaced by one of a different length.
However, it is a zoom lens, which covers 38mm right up to 380mm. Using the macro function to enable close focussing (looks like a tulip flower) and zooming in should get some fairly detailed shots. Though you may need to steady the camera as movement/camera shake is exagerated when zoomed in.
