i have a fuji finepix S5700 and im looking for a good lens to take pics of praying mantids/wildlife.
im new to this and have no idea what all this 56mm-70mm means :P

Im pretty sure your camera has a fixed lens.
 
The Fuji Finepix "superzoom" range usually have 2 (pretty good IMHO) macro settings capable of pretty decent results.

Fixed as in - it can't be removed and replaced by one of a different length.

However, it is a zoom lens, which covers 38mm right up to 380mm. Using the macro function to enable close focussing (looks like a tulip flower) and zooming in should get some fairly detailed shots. Though you may need to steady the camera as movement/camera shake is exagerated when zoomed in.
