Yes
I'm looking at getting another lens but as money is tight I only have just over £100 to spend.

The lenses I've got my eye on are
  • Tamron 75-300 Macro Lens NON IS
  • Canon 55-250 IS lens
I can't decide which one would be better to have either a lens with a macro facility or Image Stabilizing.

If you were me which one would you go for?

i've got the Tamron 70-300 "Macro" lens, it's not real macro, only just allow you to focus quite close.

I'd get the 55-250 if I'm in your position. it's a much better lens and easier to take good photos with help of IS.

I've got the tamron lens and the Macro function is rubbish. Apart from that it is ok as a tele lens. Hope that helps.

Apart from their "proper" macro primes (which tend to be excellent), Tamron and Sigma (and probably the other independents) are telling porkies when they call their lenses Macro - as Wuyan has pointed out, they have a closer minimum focus distance than some lenses but they are not really Macro (1:1) lenses.

From these 2, I'd opt for the Canon 55-250IS - it's a cracker of a lens for the price

Thank you for your views and comments,

It looks the 55-250 IS lens is going to be my next purchase.
