Which Lens for A Large Group Photo

Hi all,

I would be grateful if you could help me with lens choice for some large group photo. I have to photograph a group of a 49 people (most of that number are kids, with around 10 adults). I will be using for that Canon 5D Mark III. If I will do that inside maybe I can move back from the subject for around 8-15 meters, and if the weather will allow me I can do that outside, but again they will be place literally on the street before the building and I can move as far as opposite pavement. Any suggestions? I thought maybe 35mm?

35mm probably works. It has an angle of view of 54deg. 49 people in say three rows would take up roughly 8m. Standing 8m in front is roughly 50degrees field of view of my memory of school maths is correct.
