Which laptop

OK guys - I'm after a robust, portable l(thrown around in camera bag) laptop with minimum 2gb memory plus duo core. Prepared to spend around £1k (tomorrow). You're thoughts and guidance welcomed. The Uber Meister Strict One says Vista has a 'purdy mouth' (so, a gross misrepresentation, Matty:shrug: - Dorris Day was only one slip away anyway ) - any recommendations?

At work we use Fujitsu kit as it takes more bounces than tigger. (oh, and we are Fujitsu so we get them cheap!) at home I use a Vaio FE with vista ultimate. It has a magnesium case and out performs many desktops.

Whatever you choose, make sure it has a docking port. The most useful accessory you can get for a laptop....

Oh yes, nearly forgot.

Check the graphics card in a laptop has dedicated memory. Some of the latest apps and games do not like shared memory. The 7600go in the vaio above will run the new Aero interface in Vista with no problem at all.

Jonnyreb,just reading Macs for dummies(like me) lol.I have always had Windows operating system on Desktop,but many people say that Macs have less problems than windows.So I might get a Labtop this year and mabe a Mac.They have 2 duo and Mac Pro is up there with Sony.Good Luck with Your choice.Sean

And here's the cheeky bit... Any chance of a copy of the applications disk it makes? I upgraded my Vaio to vista and lost the apps. Yours will come with them in place. Willing to pay for disk, postage and beer tokens etc as its probably cheaper than the price sony want to charge me for the same disk.
