Which laptop to look at ?

Following on from my other thread, it looks like our trusty laptop has died ...

So, looks like its time to look for a new one, I'm after suggestions of what / which makes models to look at / to avoid

Its mainly used for a bit of pc work, Internet and a small amount of photo work.

Not really wanting to spend a fortune on one...

I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad Z580. It looks good, and feels ok. Build quality is about the same as most mid-range laptops. The sound quality is better than any laptop I have ever used, and the screen is OK (1368x768)

I paid £499, its an Intel I5-3120m, 8GB ram, 750gb HDD and DVD-RW drive.

I'd deffo be looking at dell outlet, both business and consumer, you should easily be able to get something in that price range.
 
Cheers will have a look and see what's out there

Need to chat with other half re budget ...
