I'm looking for reccomendations on a holster style bag to fit a EOS 400D with 70-300 lens.

I'm off to scotland next month and although I'll spend much of my time with my LowePro Mini Trekker on my back, there will be times when carrying all my kit is not ideal, therefore I want a holster style bag that will attach to my belt and also offer the opportunity to carry hand held or with an over the shoulder strap. a pocket on the front to carry a battery or memory cards would be useful but not essential.

I've seen a LowePro one on Amazon for under £20 so £20 would be about my budget unless there was a great bag for a little more.

Any personal reccomendations would be great, otherwise general suggestions are great too. ;)

Thanks

I have a Lowe Pro Off-Trail 2 and fits 2 lenses in slip-loc pouches attached to the bag and camera lens in the main pouch.

My 400D with battery grip and Sigma 17-70 or Canon 10-22 attached fitted no problem with a 430 EX in one pouch and a 75-300 in the other also a nifty fifty buried at the bottom of the main pouch. Also room for a couple of filters, spare batteries and cf cards.

It has a shoulder strap and a waist strap as well.

I now have a 40D with a grip and it still just about fits! Great bag.

I think it is around £40 from Jessops

Hi andy. thanks for the recommendation.

Any one else???:)

This seems to be exclusively an Andrew thread so vary, so I am not going to change that!

Like Andy I have a 40D, but I use a Think Tank Digital Holster 20, which has a zip at the bottom that allows you to extend the bag when using a longer lens. However, Iike you I also use a 70-300mm lens and with the bags waterproof jacket removed from the inside (perhaps not wise in Scotland) I can fit my camera in with the longer lens without even extending the bag.

I tend to extend the bag and lay my 17-85mm lens across the bottom and then add the camera with the 70-300mm attached on top and that gives me two lens in a relatively small bag.

I think it was £36.99

perhaps they are only Andy bags :D

thanks fot the recomendation, not sure about waterproofing removal, although i wouldn't choose to take camera out in the rain, but this is scotland and rain can be just around the corner :)

Great recommendation John. Looks perfect.

Forgot to mention i have a battery grip too, which I'd rather leave on the camera if possible, the internal dimensions look like it should be fine :) cheers
