Which hard drive to buy

I want to get a stand alone hard drive to store pics and music on. I have 160gb on the pc and never filled it up and 120gb on the macbook but would like a hard drive that could work with both so I can access my image files.
Thing is there are so many makes and types out there I am wandering if they are all very similar or is there a make I should avoid. Anything from 160 to 500gb would be enough and I dont want to spend more than 60 or 70 quid.
 
Have a look at the Western Digital My Book range. I have a 500Gb Studio Edition and it's superb. The Firewire 2 on my Mac is like lightening!

The new Samsung 1tb drive is really quick, and very cheap per megabyte.
