I have a Canon 550EX for my 50D and am looking to go strobist in 2010...and want to buy 2 other flashes...Xmas & birthday soon...

So this deal has come round...the big question is...

Which Flashes...FITP YN460 or Jessops 360AFD...?

Thanks to all who have used and can pass on some adv ice...

PS...I am thinking 550 for front on or off thru softbox and other two for background/snoots lighting etc...

There are three new YongNuo flashes on their way - the new version of the 460 and a Canon-ttl flash, the YN-465, plus the no-frills YN-462.

I have a YN460 to support my 580's and and its a cracking flash for £35.

I have a Jessops 360AFD working with my 550EX, handy enough as a slave to the 550EX, but wouldn't pay £100 for one, as the build quality is not great.

Check out eBay as they tend to come up on here quite abit, I picked mine up for £16, so there are bargains to be had.

Can't comment on YN460, never used it.

I have jessops, its ok but my last one had faulty TTL on canon it was VERY intermittent, got a new one and is ok but ended up with a 430EXII as didnt want to risk it.

there is a link on here where you can get the jessops for £40 quid

YN460's all the way. For manual off camera work id say they are great. I am used to fast recycles on my canon speedlight, but the it is 4-5x more than the YN460

Flash, do you have prices yet on the new flashes?

i would go for the jessops 360afd's, i have one and its perfect plus it has an LCD screen which i dont think the yn 460's have. btw there only £69 now at jessops for a winter sale so grab 'em quick, ive been down and bought another two so i now have three of them.
