I need to get some form of flash bracket so I can still clamp it to the camera (tripod mount point ?) perhaps using a ttl cable or similar to trigger it, but so that I can mount it further forward than the hot shoe.

I want to use it with my ring flash adapter (CD Spindle) for macro work, but extending the adapter section loses too much light.

What's the best way forward with this ? and what would be the best cost effective bracket ?
 
I think but am not sure, that a C bracket is what I'm looking for, can anyone confirm please, and recommend me a cost effective one ?
 
I believe that Lastolite make a good bracket for off camera flash.
 
they may do the job, thanks... I'll need to think about the arrangement with those..
