Which cheap HSS flash for Canon?

I only have manual flash-guns, but I'm gonna need one with HSS shortly.

Second hand is fine, but would like something fairly solid and with good recharge times... A higher output flash may suit me, so I can use it at half power rather than battering a small one at 100% constantly.

Budget: The cheaper the better. If there's nothing under £80, I'll probably go for a 550ex.

At that price, used 550EX HSS on cheaper guns is rare, 270EX is cheapest but it's no 550.

If HSS is important, then you'll need all the power you can get.

You could also try 430EX mk1 which is very good. 550 is more powerful but also has worse design and slower recycling times.
