Which camera does the FX mount fit

Hi i have a old vivitar lens with a F/X mount on it, now looking online it seems to be for a FUJI camera system but im a bit confused as to whether there is another mount system with a FX mount and it could be for a NIKON camera fit lens, if it were a NIKON lens would it just have AI on the mount or what?, the lens does have the double row of apertures marked on it but maybe the fuji lens system used this as well on it??

Which Vivitar lens is it and from what year? Nikon called it’s first full frame digital SLRs FX so could well be for that.

Its an old lens from the 80s i recon, manual focus etc i suppose thinking about it it must be the fuji mount because of its age!!

Did Fuji's X mount exist in the 1980's?
Nikon F mount certainly did.

I think the Fuji X mount came out in 2012.

Just thinking about it, it’s probably for the Yashica FX series. That would date it about right. I think Vivitar made some lenses which fit the Contax and Yashica FX series.

Hi I know it’s not the yashica fx as I have a yashicafr camera, and the old vivitar lenses have the contax / yashica bayonet fit, to many fittings for me I’m afraid!!! Lol

It would help to show the whole mount, rather than a bit.

Nikon FX refers to full frame - DX is crop - and the Nikon mount is the F mount. However looking at the aperture ring suggests to me that it is Nikon fit, even though there are some odd protrusions on the mount.

That's a nasty trick from Fuji, having 2 different X mounts! OK, one's for Fujica rather than Fuji but still not nice!
