Yes
I've got a Fuji X-H1 and currently using Capture One version 20. I often take picture at high ISO, so noise reduction is an area of interest.

Both Topaz labs (denoise) and DXO (Photolab 5) have got good deals on at the moment, but I'm unsure which to go for - Or even if I go with both of them...

The topaz would be an extra step in the workflow whilst the photolab would be an all in one replacement for the capture one.

Any thoughts?

I've not used either so probably shouldn't comment, but personally I find extra steps a pain.
BTW On1 Raw 2022 has excellent denoise so may be worth throwing into the mix if you've not tried it recently.

I use C1 20 too, and have Topaz Denoise, which I like a lot. I finish everything in photoshop anyway, so that extra step doesn`t bother me at all.

I use Photolab 4 and find the denoise to be better than anything I have used before.
Photolab 5 purports to have even better denoise so if you don't have 4 and can get the 1/2 price deal on 5 I would say that would be good.
Just confirm that your Fuji files will be okay, I did see something about Fuji now being okay but can't remember exactly.

For the first time, DxO PhotoLab now supports Fujifilm X-Trans sensors. At launch, 18 Fujifilm X-Trans cameras are supported, including recent cameras like the X-E4, X-S10, X-T4 and X100V, plus many older models.

You should check the status of fuji support with DXO Lab. I'm not properly following it, but last I read, the Fuji support from DXO lab is still in beta and the DXO prime noise reduction doesn't work at all with Fuji files. As I say you should check, until recently thy didn't process fuji -X files at all.

You can round trip to Topaz from C1, so while it's not as ideal as it being built into C1, it's not that big a deal, except that once you have run it, you are then working on a TIF and not the Raw. As has been mentioned I also only ever run it on a round trip between C1 and PS, so I can't fully remember how it works directly with C1

As an aside, you can also round trip to DXO from C1, and this case it is a DNG that you end up with.

The difference is that with C1, the C1 edits (in a TIF) are sent to Topaz before you apply noise reduction, where as with DXO, it’s the raw file that C1 sends to DXO, and DXO converts, as part of the noise reduction process, it to a DNG before sending it back to C1.

If you aren't wedded to C1, and if DXO now fully supports Fuji, and if you are routinely processing very high ISO files, then DXO is probably, as you say simpler to use.

Personally, I prefer processing in C1 (or PS) and have only ever round tripped to either Topaz or DXO, and in the end preferred using Topaz.

Tests I've seen on which is better for noise reduction, Topaz, DXO or ON1, suggest it varies between the individual images being tested, and none of the programs are the absolute single best choice. Certainly with Topaz, the only one I use now, there are frequent updates, so I imagine at any one point in time, depending on the individual image being compared the "best" noise reduction program may well keep cycling around these three products.

But check the status of fuji support with DXO, as the decision may be made for you.

Edit: I see other have posted DXO's statement on support for Fuji cameras, my comment post date what DXO have said, and are based on people who have been using DXO with Fuji, so when I suggested checking, I meant having a trawl through the Fuji forums to hear what people are saying about it, as well as what DXO are saying.

Just a quick heads up regarding Topaz... I'd been looking at Denoise and a Reviewer on Youtube (Morganti... one of the first few reviews that comes up, not someone I know or have any affiliation with) offered a 15% discount code, but I figured I'd wait until the Black Friday deals were live. Being a cheeky git I tried the code on the already 25% discounted product, and it worked.

I have Lightroom 6, Topaz Denoise and On1 Photo Raw 2022 and as previously stated above with Topaz you that extra step and the other downside (if you can call that) is that when you export to Topaz you only get a Tiff away, yes for most that is not a problem but with On1 you are staying within the program and image format stays as is.
Personal choice for me now is the On1 option feel it does a great job on very noisy images and I get a lot of those shooting in woodland with heavy tree canopies.

I've gone with the topaz deal (full bundle including video) with an extra 15% discount.

Still pondering the DxO but might just stick with capture one for now...

It is cashback - Not guaranteed but worth trying. Scope for lots of money back from lots of sites.

I tend to use topcashback more, but they do not have DxO....

Something people unfamiliar with DxO PhotoLab (4 or 5) might not appreciate is that when using Deep Prime noise reduction you don't get to see the results until you export your finished file. Yes, it has a small preview window but it is small which makes it hard to tell what the finished image will look like. I find the end results are generally excellent and at least on a par with DeNoise AI - but the not knowing aspect can be off-putting.

That sounds similar to Topaz denoise?...........

Not really, In Topaz Denoise you can see the results on screen before saving and even go back and change settings and see those results before committing to save the final result. Denoise can even show you four different denoising solutions at the same time and provide a split screen to review your chosen option. I find this is far more useable than DxO.

I see what you mean. Yes, the various different options in Topaz are pretty good.

I've taken the plunge with DXO now anyhow.....I'll have to live with it!

I too am a DxO user and have no complaints about the final output - I just wish I could see what it was going to look like without having to export first. I'm hopeful that DeepPrime will become more DeNoise-like in the future.
