OK, another boring question for some of your more experienced togs. I am looking for a backdrop. Price isn't a problem, neither is size. But I am just looking for something of quality. I have read a little bit about Lastolite hilite's with trains and so on. But would a good old fashioned backdrop stand with a paper roll be as/more effective? Anything you can recommend would be great.

Thank you.

The size and material will be dependant on exactly what you plan to use it for and whether it's a permanent fixture, or needs to be transportable. Colours etc.

Just in my house and other houses really Phil. Mainly portraits and pictures of the kids and some of my friends and their newborns. So something fairly transportable. With the colours, mainly just white, black and grey possibly. Are there any real down sides to the hilite in regards to it's performance? Thanks Phil.

Dom.

Search hi lite on this forum for the whole story, but in a nutshell, white backgrounds take a lot of separation to do well.

My recommendation would be a vinyl wallpaper backdrop and floor and a length of skirting. I've got a link but it's not on my ipad, try searching the site for studio flooring.

Thanks Phil. I shall have a bit of a read up.
