Hi.

I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times before, but I went back a few pages & couldn't find exactly the answer I was looking for so here goes:

I haven't shot on film for a few years now. I'm off to Edale next weekend and I'm taking my Bronica SQA with me to put a couple of rolls of film through her before I put her on display.

My question is: What's the best colour neg film out there these days?

Cost is not an issue, I'm only going to buy a couple of rolls, and I want the best quality available.

Speed is also not an issue, she'll be tripod mounted at all times.

Type of shots? Autumn landscapes against a deep blue sky (if I'm lucky, it'll proberbly be overcast and raining), and perhaps even a colourful sunset (really pushing my luck now). So I'm thinking something with fairly high saturation.

Thanks in advance.

put her on display...

does not compute....

Ektar 100 sounds like the one for strong colour print film.
I don't use print film so I dunno, it gets some good write ups though.

I'm sad enough to think they're beautiful to look at, its infinitely unlikely I could look but not use.

can't you collect china teapots or something.....

It's a functional item, not a display piece!

Try Kodak Ektar 100.

Steve.

Ektar 100 or Fuji Superia 400 if the weather's not looking good the later will be better to use and give more DOF.

Have you got more than one film Back?

No. Never did invest in a second back. But I'm going for all or nothing with the Bronica shots, if the light's not right, the shutter won't fire.

Thanks to all for the advice. Ektar 100 wins hands down, it seems.

Fuji 160 is my colour neg film of choice. I like the S variant (lower saturation) but the C (higher saturation) is nice as well. I'm not sure about the rendition of blues with ektar

I can lend you a spare 120 back for a week Steve if you promise to take good care of it. I'm only up the road from you in Ashby.
