Yes
When I put an image through Lightroom it loses its EXIF data.
If I just use Elements 6 then its not a problem.

Normally I first open and sort an image in Lightroom.
Then I export an "edit a copy with lightroom adjustments" into element 6 for processing.
Once Ive finished in element 6 and saved it has no EXIF data.

Checked preference settings in Lightroom, still no joy.
What Im I doing wrong?

Which version of Lightroom are you using... on googling this it seems it was a bug which might now be fixed.

Im using version 1.3.

To be honest Janice I didnt think about an update or Lightroom at fault :bonk:
First sign of a problem is normally the end user.....ME :D

## Runs off to check for update ##

1.3 is the latest i think... so thats that idea up the swanny!!

I believe EXIF Data is only retained when you do an export from the file menu of Lightroom. When you choose to edit a copy in an external editor (PS CS3 in my case) it allows you to open the image in that editor, close the image and save changes. The externally edited version then appears in Lightroom, at which point the EXIF Data from the original is applied to the edited copy.

At least I'd assume that's how it works...

Thanks Sambonebs, I will have a look at that

i had this problem with lightroom, but i now export files and then edit in elements or PS which seams to have resolved it.

i've just looked at some files that were exported from Lightroom ( ver 1.3.1) and all the exif info is there. Read in Photoshop .

In fact I can read the basic data in explorer, it pops up when the curser hovers over the image for a few seconds.
