Hi guys,

I'm after some advice. I'm staying overnight in Portland and spending the days before and after on the jurassic coast to do a bit of walking and photography.

I'm looking at going to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Kimmeridge Bay but i wondered if anyone knows of any little gems that you could point me in the direction of. I've not been before so only picked the areas that i've heard of!

I've got the time to drive to anywhere between Exeter and Bournemouth so i'm open to suggestions.

Cheers,

Mintman

It's been a while but if I remember correctly if you walk Eastwards around Lulworth Cove climb up the path at the end you eventually come to the Fossilised Forest, on the cliff top. I think it is marked on the O.S maps.
Also Kimmeridge Bay could take up a lot of your time !!!

Lyme Regis & Charmouth in Dorset and if you head further down towards Exeter then there are good photo ops around Sidmouth, Otterton, Ladram Bay (Near East Budleigh), Budleigh Salterton & Exmouth.

Cheers..,

Don't forget a look at the Globe at Durlston Head above Swanage (I *think* this counts as part of the Jurassic Coast.)

When are you coming down? Because the air show is on in Bournemouth next weekend.

Portland itself has some dramatic scenery, and of course Old Bill (the lighthouse).
