Hi guys

I'm hopefully looking to venture out tomorrow evening if the skies are clear to tyr and capture some shots of the night sky as they're should be some shooting stars visible and also hopefully capture the Milky Way. I live in Scotland and I know that Galloway Forest Park is a dark sky area but I don't know where to go exactly to get a nice composition to get some pictures. Is anyone familiar with the area and can give any advise? Thanks.

We stayed on the Galloway House estate @ Garlieston a few years ago, right next to Rigg Bay & was amazed at how dark the skies were. :wideyed:

I guess anywhere around the forest area will be good, but maybe have a drive around during the day to see if there is anything interesting if you wanted to incorporate a long exposure with something in the foreground? (light painting type of thing)

Thanks. I've decided to go to Loch Lomond instead as it's a bit closer. Will be going to Galloway but not until later this year.

Best places are Glen Trool, The Otter Pool on the Raiders Road or my favourite, Clatteringshaw Loch.

Thanks. I didn't go in the end as the forecast wasn't that great but will know for next time.
