Hello all,
Being a klutz this morning I managed to drop my Olympus XA, it has cracked the base plate where the clamshell cover retracts making it loose. I’d like to fix it as it’s one of my favourite cameras.

Does anyone know a good place to get spares for old cameras, other than eBay?

Thanks!

Other than eBay or similar the only thing I could suggest was one of the camera repairers such as Miles Whitehead, however that would obviously be more expensive as you would be paying for a repair. Sadly there are no other real options unless someone on this or another forum has a scrap one you could have.

You will not find "New" spares for an Olympus XA. the only way is to strip a dead one for the necessary part.
EBay is a good a source as any. As are forums like this as someone may have a failed one that they are hanging on to for sentimental reasons.
However one in good working condition hols their value remarkably well and is worth fixing.

Thanks, I figured I’d be looking out for one that’s got some other fault, I’ll email Miles Whitehead on the off chance he has a box full of bits knocking around.
