Where to rent lenses from?

I have never rented gear but I find myself really close to buy a 24-70mm 2.8 and before I do that I really want to rent it to make sure it is what I need/want.

Des anyone have any recommendations as to where to rent from?

Also, the question of whether it is something recommended (renting lenses by post)?

Thanks Andy, I did look at lenses for hire. I will give them a try then.
 
Lenses for Hire are superb, and the only place I would go for a lens rental - highly recommended.

I've had a Nikon 24-70/2.8, Tamron 17-50/2.8, Tokina 11-16/2.8 on hire from them, and going for a Nikon 300/4 + 1.4x TC in the summer for the F1 with a possible 70-200/2.8 and 50 or 85/1.4 soon... And all have been in A1 condition!
 
i haven't rented from them but had the pleasure of emailing them for some advice on a lens i wanted to rent (brought one was the reason as it came for sale at an very attractive price) and they were very very helpful.

Also TP members gets 50% discount i believe :p (joking)
