Hello, I'm sure this has been asked before but my searches didn't come up with anything.

I want to start printing some of my photos so that they are not just on the computer and so I can put some on the wall.

I was thinking 12x8 but it is hard to get frames for this size.

Where do I print them? I have printed some 6x4 in supermarkets and jessops but I don't think the quality is quite up to scratch. I don't have loads of money to spend but I would like decent quality prints. I was looking at http://digitalab.co.uk/ it cost £1.29 to print a 12x8.

Any one used these before where do you get photos printed?

Also I haven't calibrated my monitor (21.5" iMac), do the labs offer printer profiles that I can calibrate my monitor in accordance to?

Thanks for any help in advance.

:help:

also, i downloaded one of the profiles from the dscl site, but i can't figure out how to actually use them on my imac. It doesn't appear on the display profile list in preferences

With DSCL I have never gone through downloading profiles etc - I prepare everything in CS5 and check on my calibrated monitor, then I upload them and get them printed ... I have never been disappointed!

What did you use to calibrate your monitor?

Spyder monitor calibrator.

I print 12x8 quite a lot and use a 16x12 frame and a mount. I much prefer that than a photo in a frame on its own.
