Where to go in the nw

I've got a couple of hrs spare on wednesday in the day, just wondering any where close to Altrincham I can try my new Nikon d5100 with the standard 15-55 lens?

Dunham Massey park. Deer, Squirrel, Geese Ducks and other water foul. Gounds ,Hall and Water Mill.

Great place for photography. Just do a search and enjoy!

Also nearby is the Bridgewater Canal and the River Bollin. Thers also a Motte & Bailey at Castle Hill near Bowgreen.
