I want to go to the lake district for a few days during Easter with some mates and some bikes.
Just getting some ideas together, where abouts to camp, etc.

Where have you stayed? What have you done? etc.

We've stayed at a caravan park at Grange over Sands, but its too far away from the best scenic parts, and a B & B in Ambleside, which was perfect.
For biking, I suggest you look around Grizedale Forest, between lakes Windermere and Coniston

So much to do.

Would recommend if it is your first time base yourself near Ambleside or Keswick. Get yourself a walk or ride book or two and do what you fancy.

My recommendation would be base yourself in / near Ambleside and walk the Fairfield Horseshoe as a nice day out.

Are you biking off or on road? Loads of MTB routes up there also. Good stuff in Grizedale and also nice easy riding in the Claife Heights / Hawkshead region. Tougher stuff over High Street or Hellvellyn.

And be prepared, if you're going at Easter - it's going to be heaving everywhere - most of the popular bridleways for MTB's are going to be wall-to-wall with red-socks, so don't expect to be able to hoon down them at anything like an interesting speed. In short, for easter weekend, be a tourist, do tourist-ey stuff, then stay on for the end of the week and do the bikey stuff when it's quieter.

As far as campsites - try Coniston Hall Campsite if it's a lads trip (not really family campsite at easter, maybe a bit crowded) or possibly Side Farm in Patterdale.
