Yes
Can anyone recommend somewhere to print? somewhere that doesn't apply extra consumer filters over the photos.

last time i printed using Jessops, i tweaked them to look good on the screen sRGB, but after printing, there seems to have an extra contrast and vibrance filter applied.:gag:

also reasonably priced, not like £4 postage for 50 prints, i don't mind waiting a few days.

dscl they ask you if you want them tweaked or not. Less than a quid for 10 x 15" prints bargain!

DSCL wants £4 for first class postage. i'm ordering less than 50, surely first class stamps for it would only cost £1 maximum. :suspect:

their individual prices are great, looks like it's more catered to professionals that order hundreds of shots.

Royal Mails new price structure would make them £2.50 postage. If recorded another 75p, and then packaging of 30p its not far off.

Dscl are great, I got metal prints of them in a3 total bargain and I emailed asking questions very quick response

DSCL are charging for packaging as well as postage - they are well packaged and usually arrive the next day. If I was getting mine done locally I'd have to drive somewhere and park and I reckon the time, petrol costs and possible parking costs would cost me more than the £4 or so that DSCL charge.

what are your thoughts on Photobox? do they modify your photos?

they offer 40 free prints. worth a go?

Jessops touch screens add a auto enhancer what they can't avoid unless you burn your images into a disk and ask them to do it via there pc from out the back ( if they know how )

I use Loxley via Smugmug.
Auto correct is turned on by default, I always turn it off!
Using their soft-proofing profile, the satin prints look spookily like my calibrated screen.
Only £1.99 shipping too :)

Most of these companies use the same machine. The fujifilm frontier, its like the industry standard or something everywhere has them. ASDA use them and i'm sure if you go in in the day when there is a adult on the desk not a spotty teenager they will be able to turn the enhancement option off for you.
