Yes
Having just gained a second hand Epson R2400, I am in need of some good quality paper and even a paper roll to release some of my prints from their hard drive jail.

Can anyone comment on good value or service from any particular suppliers.

I did try a search in this forum for this subject honest but couldn't find any related comments.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Chris

What type of paper do you want to print on. Big standard gloss etc or maybe one of the fancy art papers.

For standard paper consider ilford smooth gloss or smooth pearl.

I am very new to printing stuff, just want something to make my Landscapes both colour and B&W come out well for framing. No fancy effects but possibly some panoramas.

I have seen some comments on dodgy profiles for the Ilford smooth papers is this an issue?

Thanks

Chris

Staples Premium is surprisingly good- especially if you need something to experiment with.

As far as we are concerned Ilford paper and profiles are top notch and have never had one returned as unsuitable.

It's not just a matter of using the profile with the paper, you will find that you will need to use different print settings too as in Gold Fibre Silk needs a different setting to other Ilford papers if using genuine Epson Ink.

The Ilford site has all the information and downloads for your printer.

Once you decide on a paper that sounds right where is the best place to buy it from?

For either price or service?

Chris

depends on what you want to buy - prices do change frequently. also consider wither you are provided with ICC profiles too.

epson
ilford
permajet
fotospeed
hahnemuhle
innova art

all provide profiles for the R2400 but it really comes down to price

permajet, fotospeed, ilford all make low cost gloss and pearl surface papers. maybe you should buy a couple of test packs and see what you like. have a look at speed graphic

:plusone: Bought a pack the other day to try on my new Epson 1400 and suitably impressed with the outcome.
