Hey guys,
Im taking the plunge and getting the 70-200 VR II but where should i buy it from.
Most places im looking are showing £1650 and anything cheaper than that i have concerns that it may be GREY...
Im also not fussed with the idea that my 'new' lens has been fondled by the shops tire kickers. A new sealed box would be best!

Any suggestions welcome!

Cheers

Clifton Cameras - £1599 with 2-year warranty. Nothing grey and knowledgeable professional staff.

None of the Nikon boxes are ever sealed.. I'd also recommended looking for dealers who participate in the cashback schemes, I remember when I got mine from Jessops I had about £85 cashback via Quidco making it far cheaper than any other place, mind you I think it was 8% cashback for a limited time then, it's normally much less so worth waiting for the special rates if you aren't in any hurry to get one.

Why are you worried about it being Grey market ? Nikon lenses come with an intl warranty so you have absolutely no isses as long as you buy from a recognised camera retailer and not some random person off eBay.

I bought my 70-200 VR IIfrom HDEW...it's a grey market lens but has a full manufacturers warranty. When I bought it it was cheaper that buying second hand on TP. Currently £1499....

I am not associated with them....just a happy customer. Lots of positive review threads on here for them.

I can recommend HDEW. Got my 300 F/4 from there. Cheaper than a second hand one too. Bargain. And international warranty from Nikon.

I notice their price for that.....I almost wondered if it was a typo! As you say cheaper than people want in the classifieds for them...........

You can't send it back to Nikon UK though. I looked into it when I bought my original 200-400mm. I bought from the states knowing that if I had a problem, it would have to go back there.
Didn't really bother me. Very unlikely to go wrong. Couldn't get one over here for another 6 months. The last Olympics!!!
