Where do you keep your filters?

Hi,
Another beginners question:
I haven't yet bought any filters for my DSLR, so I was wondering: where do you keep your filters? Do they tend to come with a little pouch you can keep them in (I'll probably be buying the cheaper Hoya's)? I have a camera bag, but presumably they should be individually protected?
Thanks,
Ben

They normally come in plastic boxes/cases, just leave them in that.

Hoya's will probably come in a screw top circular plastic container, which you can keep the filter in.

My polarisers are nearly always on the lens; hence my warning in your other thread about the coating getting scratched. It can and does happen!

I never, ever, keep a circular polariser on a lens..I only put the filter on when I need it.

Should those filters be taken off when not shooting?
Can't I just leave it on lens? Is it really that fragile?
Can I for example put CP filter on and then some UV on it? is it possible?
