Just purchased a POE Switch and 2 POE Wireless access points.
POE for those who don't know is power over ethernet. Put a POE access point on the end of a network cable plugged into a POE switch and you won't need a power supply.
Everything arrived, plugged them in and the access points didn't work. Plugged in their power supply and they worked. Pulled out the manuals and neither of them gave me any tips. Read the specs on the website I purchased them from and still none the wiser. Finally found small print on the manufacturers site stating the access points use passive POE, their own interpretation of POE. You must plug it in, but you can use their POE injector so only a single cable goes to the access point.
Why find a standard, ignore it, create your own version of it and call it the same thing, which isn't compatible with anything, but not tell anyone except in the small print only on your site that it isn't the standard you think it is.
I hate you TP-Link!!!!! Now a 4 day wait due to being away waiting for the replacement access point to get it all set up.
