Hi,

Recently been trying to get into photography, experimenting with my different lenses, and messing around with settings and in photoshop.

Sadly though, my camera seems to have given up on me - it just shut down and began 'buzzing' one day as I was using it. It was a hot day and I was on the beach, my initial thoughts were obviously did it get too hot, or is there sand in there?

It's just a repetitive buzzing noise, sometimes fast sometimes slow, with it turned on and off.

Hopefully someone on here will know what is going on, I will try and link a quick video in somehow, to show you exactly what's happening.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

What make and Model, someone might have had a similar problem with the same camera

Self timer :)

Thanks for the tips, just trying them now.
I have a feeling they aren't going to work if I'm honest! Maybe need to start looking at a replacement body..

Care to shed some more light on that? :)
You said It's just a repetitive buzzing noise, sometimes fast sometimes slow, which is kind of a self timer type of thing :)
Half in jest, but just in case the IQ button was pressed, or stuck, in- due to sand.

Reading the other posts, they seem more likely to cure your problem.
Does Canon have a soft reset or 'back to factory settings' option in the menu (like Nikon)?

Camera + Beach = Recipe for disaster...

Did you take the lens off at any time? Or open the battery hatch? This could let sand in. First thing to try is (at home, where there's no sand!) taking the battery out and leaving the camera for twenty minutes or so. While you're waiting, take the lens off and use a rocket blower or similar (not breath - breath has a lot of water in it) around the interior of the camera. Hold it face down so's any debris can drop out. Next, carefully wipe the contacts on the lens and the body. A soft pencil rubber works well. Again, hold the camera face down so bits can't fall in. Then, with the lens detached, twist the focus and zoom rings. Any feeling of grittiness? It'll be quite noticeable if there is any sand in there. Try a different lens, different battery, different CF to see if anything changes.

Hope you get it sorted.

I think your Camera is trying to tell you it needs a Nikon to join the family, try a D750 see if that cures the Buzzzzz:runaway:
