I bought some studio flashes on eBay and have just gone through it all. My first time using this, so I'm quite excited. There was an few extra bits, like cables and adaptors. I've figured out all of it except this one little cable. Can anyone tell me what it's for perhaps?

It makes a single jack connector into 2.
You could possibly find a use for it with your lights, but It's probably originally for a music device. There's a stereo set of connections on the jack, but flashes only need a mono connection (just 2 connections)

I'm guessing they included that in case you're using the PC sync connection from your camera to fire the flashes. This connector would allow you to split the signal and fire two flashes at a time. It's an ancient way of controlling flashes and I had to look up what PC stands for, it's "Prontor/Compur" from the manufacturers who invented it in the 1950s.
