I'm thinking about getting a new lens to take on holiday (Alps, Northern Italy, South of France)

Being a newcomer, the list of abbreviation on the lenses is a bit overwhelming,

Ideally I'd like a decent budget zoom lens (up to £200?), new or a VGC used item.

I've been looking at two, but one is £60+ more than the other.

So what is the difference, the more expensive one has APO, whatever that is, after the model number

This one for £125

And This one for £189 (is local within 10 mins drive)

To fit a Nikon D3000
Any other suggestions welcome
Thanks

One has a red ring on it.

APO is one of those much abused marketing terms. It's short for Apochromatic which should be better.
