Whats the difference between a Rolleicord and Rolleiflex?f

Apart from the price, the Rolleiflex usually came with better faster lenses, although you'd need to research various models as there were so many lens variations. The Rolleicord had a knob winder and I think the shutter cocking was a separate action, whereas the Rolleiflex had a crank wind which advanced the film and cocked the shutter in one operation. There were other differences like the Rolleiflex probaby having a brighter focusing screen.

Of the the two models, the Rolleiflex was considered the 'pro' camera, but many a pro earneds his living with a Rolleicord.

For a while my father did weddings with a Rolleiflex and a Rolleicord.

Apart from the lens options, the Rolleiflex has a crank wind which also sets the shutter. The Rolleicord has a seperate wind on knob and shutter cocking mechanism.

I have a Rolleicord V with a Xenar lens. Although most Rolleiflexes had better specified lenses such as Planars and Xenotars, you would find it very difficult to see any difference especially when stopped down a liitle bit. They are all very sharp.
