obviously without any apparent problems? I have a sony 200 and shoot in Raw. just looked at one for ref and its 3872 x 2592 pixels approx 16 x 10 inches at 240 resolution. How do I work out the largest print I can get after doing a bit of work in photoshop and changing it to jpeg?
 
It's a hard one to call. I had some pictures from my 12 megapixel D3 blown up to about 15ft wide and they came out surprisingly well, they look fine so long as you are more than 4ft away. It will depend how you upscale them as well but so long as the shots are sharp, A2 should look good from pretty close.
 
there's no real limit
because the bigger you make it the further back you have to stand!
 
oh! thats ok then. For some reason I thought there was a max you can go to without a lot of pixillating occuring or whatever its called
 
You can always use software to create extra pixels though. Have a look at Genuine Fractals, there was a pretty good thread about enlarging etc a few weeks back.

It depends on the display media?

I had one of my winning photo's displayed on a 7 story high video advertising display in Manchester, that was a 10Mpixel shot.

one 1 do a fractals program that allows you to print ridiuclously large.
we printed a 40 inch x60 inch from a customers 6mega pix camera a while ago using it.
amazing results, but the program isnt cheap.

again, the bigger prints are viewed from further away anyway.
so it depends where theyre gonna be displayed too.

there is still hope for my 4Mp to get bigger prints:)
