Hi i was just wondering could any of you recomend a fairly good editing package that would be fairly easy to operate for a new amateur such as myself??
If you want the best, then probably photoshop CS4, but it's expensive and most people will probably never use the majority of the features. Try googling 'GIMP' (possibly with 'image editor' in there as well to filter out some of the less savoury results ), it's free but has most of the functionality of the other software!
I have Lightroom 2 Which is pretty awesome but have also just ordered Elements for my Mac. This should give me just about everything i could want for my photo's!
If i was on a budget Elements 7 would be my 1st choice but have a look at The GIMP which is like a free version of Photoshop. It can be damn fiddly to use at times and the RAW editor is very inconsistant but it has all the tools! I would still plumb for Elements!
If you want free, easy and no downloads, try www.pixlr.com that works right in your browser. The same goes for the more advanced Phoenix at www.aviary.com
