I've got a friend coming up from London for the Easter weekend. Does anyone know of any events going on around Leeds, Bradford, York ? Or anywhere in Yorkshire really. The more photographic opportunities the better !

What about the Leeds/Bradford Airport. If the weather is going to be as good as they say then some shots of planes coming in or going up against a nice blue sky will look good.

This week is also the first real weekend opening of many of the stately homes and halls for the season, may be busy though but may be good for some people shots.
 
Well there is a carnival at Lister park. I'll look around today and get back to you.
 
Thanks for the ideas guys. I go past LBA every day - just wish they had a decent viewing area that didn't need a 400mm lens. I've checked the Bradford website re: Lister Park but there's no details there so if you do turn up anything that would be great - thanks.

Selby game fair is on throughout the bank holiday weekend. Usually quite a big show. I'm probably going Sunday.
Its at Carlton Towers (5 miles south of Selby, N Yorks)

Ray.

You can fill the frame with a 135mm lens at Leeds & Bradford airport if you stand at the "graveyard" end without any problem. That's the West end of the runway.;)

Also should be very busy with the holiday bunnies flying out for Easter..:)
 
There is definitely a carnival (not sure what you guys call it) at Lister Park. But I agree the weather is so great just a walk through the Dales should be extremely photogenic. I think I'm heading to Fewston Resevoir for a good walk and some pics.

I actually went to Swinsty reservoir (twice) which is the next one down from Fewston. Great weather, nice scenery, crap pics :(

Yes I know the graveyard end - must give it a go then. I remember standing there a few years ago as Concorde took off and flew over our heads. Fantastic sight and sound - the ground was shaking. Sorely missed.

I notice people also stand by the wire fence where the runway crosses the road. Might try some pics there as well.
