This is some kit lying around in the office at work - its all absolutely mint, having probably only been used for about 20 rolls in its entire career..

Nikon FM2 Chrome Body
Nikkor 50mm F1.8
Sigma 24mm f2.8
Sigma 90mm f2.8 macro
(all fitted with Hoya UV filters from new.)
Metz Hammerhead 60CT-1 Flashgun complete with heavy battery pack/charger
Peli 1500 protective case

I'm not bothered about the case and flashgun, but if i'm to put an offer in it'll have to be for the whole lot ?

I'd probably try to sell the flashgun on via ebay, and make use of the case for other things.

Thanks

I wouldn't go mad, but the 60CT-1 is probably worth more than the lot put together. Just depends if they know that I suppose. ;)

If it helps your decision, I'll give you £35 for the Peli. :)

Are you selling this lot or asking how much it is worth

He is genuinely asking how much this is worth however I have a feeling it maybe up for sale soon if his offer is accepted ;o)

If it helps. I watch prices on eBay pretty closely and the FM2 still fetches a good price. also the Metz. I reckon if you put it all on the bay individually there is about £200 worth. I would offer them £50/75.I also would be interested in the Metz.

Thanks for the replies.

As i stated its some stuff lying around in work, that i will probably put a cash sale offer in for. Not sure what i'd do with it all mind, it just seems a waste to see it sitting in the cupboard for any longer !.

Will see what response i get from the accounts department

I paid £195 for a second hand mint boxed FM2....it was over 15 years ago though:lol:

A guy who I used to work with landed a job with National Geographic and sold all his electronic bodies, replacing them with FM2s as he didn't want to be battery dependent.

Battery life has improved a tad since then though.

Well i have the lot in my possession now - i forgot about the VAT, so the accountants stung me for another 15% over what i thought i'd agreed.

OH well, looks like it will be having some fun this weekend, although i'm loathed to take it out as it is 'as new'. There is not one mark of any description on the body, it even has the CE mark sticker on the base as new. Its quite a high serial number compared to some i've watched on ebay this week, so it must be one of the last FM2n models they made. This seems to be bourne out by the Nikkor Ai-S lens, which doesn't have the ears fitted (another sign of late production).

My initial shutter and aperture tests suggest all is well, meter seems accurate - a roll or two this weekend will verify it ;)

Bloomin' lovely bit of manual kit.

Well all appears to be fine - was a bit worried about the original battery for the Metz, but i've had 200 test flashes on full power from it in under 2 minutes so it can't be too bad. And i've discovered that burglar alarm back up batteries are the same size and rating, so if it does fail it'll be £7, not £60 for the Metz version - phew :D

Run a few rolls through it with all the lenses, to test appertures, shutter speeds etc and all appears to be as it should be :D :D

Still undecided what to do with it all - its a wonderful bit of classic Nikon kit, but i think most will end up on ebay as i can't see me using the camera to any extent, especially having just bought a Canon EOS3 as well. I'd rather it be used, than sat in the cupboard. Think i will keep the Peli case and possibly the Metz to use with the Bronny :D
