Leica have a reasonable following, and they do make decent cameras, but it depends if the Leica officianados believe the M8 is a true Leica, and whether they actually buy it !

If I had the money, I'd get one.
As it is I have my eye on a [much] lower end rangefinder with a Leica M mount.
This comes after having done some stuff with a Leica M6, awesome awesome camera.
