I am looking to add more weight to my gear list, and have always liked the idea of a wacom tablet to edit my photos (currently using trackpad on macbook (I find it more artistic than a mouse).
I am happy to buy used and even an older model..
What can I get away with these days?

Hi Kane

I've used Wacom Intuos Pro Medium for the past 4 years and makes editing a joy and slicker.
I found it hard to adjust at first from editing with a mouse but practice/patience and then practice some more.
Once mastered you will not go back. You customise the system to suit how you work.

Hope you get sorted.

I am in the process of getting a display tablet.
I have an ordinary one, but want to edit like I am drawing on paper :)

I'm not saying this is a bad idea, but just consider that you will be looking down all the time, and these pens do clearly wear out the surface unless it is toughened glass, I would get the fancy ipad for those times, and for the rest just get comfortable with a regular drawing tablet. It only takes a little while for the most part.

I actually was forced into full time use of my wacom due to bluetooth mouse misbehaving with a new motherboard.
There are no real issues, other than making precise selection, where dabbing a pen always moves the cursor by a couple of pixels. Mouse is inherently more precise in this scenario. That is about the only times I want to use one.

Yes, there are pros and cons, just mentioned it in case the OP hadn't thought of it.

Other hobbies I have, I work looking down, so not an issue for me.

Wacom have recently lost face and respect, they used an AI image in a promotion for one of their tablets

Well give yourself on the back, I do hope you have sorted your Bluetooth Mouse out with your new motherboard. Have you tried re charging it thats what normally works or just buy a new one. A lot cheaper than a Wacom Tablet.

It is more of a case of getting Bluetooth antenna with a cable because signal is just simply bad from behind the case.

It is actually of quite low importance
