I have some old Ikea chairs that have lost some fixings. Ikea no longer make this chair so i can't get spares from them and I'm struggling to find them online anywhere.

Thanks Donnie, the closest i found were 'drop in anchors' - but much to big.

If you can't find "proper" replacements, you could probably use domed nuts and a thin wall tube spanner but check for clearance before committing yourself 100%! If you can't get a spanner on the nuts, you could cut a slot in each dome and use a screwdriver.

Thanks. They would need at least 5mm, preferably 8mm of thread.
Screwfix?

That looks pretty close, but unless it is long enough for the head to protrude it is too wide. But now I know a few names of the type of thing I can use it will make searching much easier.

ps
I have measured the internal diameter as between 5 and 5.1 mm. Presumably this means I need a 6mm fitting as the diameter is measured excluding the thread?

It will be M6 thread.

Hex head/socket head sleeve nut.......? The trouble is, a lot of them appear to be 'stepped' on the outside diameter.

Thanks all. I ordered “M6 Sleeve Nuts Hexagon Socket Flat Head Plated Nut in Various Sizes Pack of 10pc” from eBay and they have fitted perfectly.
