Yes
So I currently have a 5DII and just a few lenses but since buying it 2/3 years back I've used it about 3 times on family occasions. I really like it but just don't get out with it and when I go out on weekends, I just don't want to take something that big (even if it's just the 40mm).
So rather than let it gather dust and depreciate even more (especially as the 5DIV is just around the corner) I'm going to sell it on (I think my brother is going to buy it), but will need something to replace it.

I've always had my eyes set on the RX100 as it's compact and great quality for times that I don't want bulk, so the MKI I'm definitely going to get. But for something with a bit more control, I'm not sure what's a good contender? And I'm not even sure what I want, because I don't think I want anything too big, or expensive, otherwise I would just keep the 5DII, or replace it with a 5DI.
I've toyed with the idea of getting a Fujifilm X100S as I love the retro look and you can get it relatively cheap now. But unsure of the fixed lens (but I quite like my 40mm; just find it a bit inconvenient at times so tend to reach for the 17-40mm as well if I take the 40mm out. But then I would have the RX100)

What other options do I have? I've never really played with M4/3 or mirrorless but with a lens, surely it's pretty much like carrying around a DSLR, in terms of the size of it?

Oh, I also have my old 450D still lying around so could possibly just pick up a 24mm pancake? Hmm..

I went from a 5D to mft and the first time I went out with mft I honestly had to keep checking the bag to see if it was still in there such was the weight saving. Believe me, even the mini slr design mft cameras offer a real and significant saving in bulk and weight over a dslr.

If cost isn't an issue I'd look at the Panasonic GX80 if you can live with the evf or the Olympus Pen. If you go for mft I'd suggest reading up on shutter shock and considering the implications.

Another option could be the APS-C Sony A6xxx or FFA7 series. I'm more of a prime user and an A7 with a prime in the 28-50mm sort of range is about the same size as s mini slr mft camera. The rf style mft and A6000 cameras IMO offer the biggest savings in bulk and weight when used with compact lenses.

Good luck choosing.

I have just sold all my Nikon DLSR kit for similar reasons. I tried the Pen-7, OMD range, Sony Ax000's and RX100 for size.

The one thing that really struck me about the RX100, is how small it is, I did not realise until I saw it in the flesh. Pen-7 felt a bit odd for me to hold. Sony and OMD's felt nicer to hold for me and went for an OMD E-M10 in the end

Those cameras with the pancake zoom lenses look pretty ideal as that would probably cover not needing an RX100, but also something with very decent quality and control, plus the option of faster primes.
The Sony mirrorless cameras look pretty good in a small package. But I really like the retro style of the Olympus range.. definitely going to have a closer look at those. I think maybe pop into a shop and have a feel of them as well.

What would say the OM-D E-M10 be like size and weight wise, compared to a 450D with a 24mm pancake lens?
