What to do with Canon kit lens?

I have now acquired a Sigma 17-70mm to replace my Canon kit lens. I'm still trying to establish what type/style of photography suits me best. I seem to do better when there is a specific subject, people, cars, animals, insects etc rather than landscapes. My question is - should I sell the kit lens or is there something for which it is more suitable than the Sigma? I don't need the cash but neither do I want to accumulate unused lenses.

I kept mine so that if I sell the 20D one day it can go back in its box and still be complete. Don't think they are worth much more than £25 so didn't seem worth selling - especially as it is actually a pretty good lens.

I kept my to use incase of an emergency, as they aren't worth much.

Thanks - I'll hold on to it. I checked out Rob's gallery and I'm impressed with the results he achieves with similar kit to mine. Must try harder. Greg.

Maybe file it in the round filing cabinet? :p

A bit harsh I feel! LOL I agree with these folks. It is a nice little lens - great for backup or to sell on as a kit when you upgrade bodies.

Its not so bad and has some redeeming features - not heavy being one of them. But it can produce some decent shots. Here's one:

Thanks to all for your comments. I'm going to hold on to it as a backup.
