What to do next..stolen image thread

Nice, like your style....I've decided on a course of action and will update everyone as things progress.

Many thanks for the advice all.

This guy knows all about copyright, he has watermarks on his windsock photo's, I've no idea why, they're on the internet and must be free...right ?

He could easily take it down, no one would notice if one image went missing, its not like its a splash page or anything.
Unfortunately some people think, stupidly, its ok to "borrow" images for their own pages, in this case, stupidity isn't the cause, as*holery is..

Good luck, not that you need it..

the site is up. Complain to his host that he has an image that isnt his and has no right to use, find his site host easily enough using who is or Network Tools.

That's a very good idea as most decent hosts won't condone this sort of thing and it is almost certainly against their T&Cs. whois shows that the domain's nameservers are 123-reg.co.uk so I'd guess that they host the site - unless it's redirected of course.

I have contacted his site host this morning requesting removal of the image. We'll see how they react.

Maybe he's in too much of a weed fog to take you seriously?

i only have half a brain cell.i freely admit it. duuuur.
dave , sadly some people are just A holes.
hope you get some joy from this numpty.
weve taken to using lo res images and watermarking to stop toads pinching images.
the sad thing is, if he'd asked you, i bet you'd probably have let him use it anyway.

Inane, yes how chuffed would i have been if some one had said they like my image so much they wanted to use it on thier web site. What a complement. But as is the case so often now days this guy was greedy and didnt want to pay for it and just took it.
