What social media apps are there?

Use Facebook and have used twitter a little, but looking at the App Store there see to be loads of social media type apps out there. Pinterest is one I have seen for example but know nothing about. Anything I am missing out on, especially from a business perspective for my portrait website.

Use Facebook and have used twitter a little, but looking at the App Store there see to be loads of social media type apps out there. Pinterest is one I have seen for example but know nothing about. Anything I am missing out on, especially from a business perspective for my portrait website.

I've just started using Pinterest and it seems really good - it's a sort of social bookmarking tool for photos as far as I can see, a bit like "faving" a picture on flickr BUT it works for any photo anywhere on the web, not just on flickr!

In fact a better analogy is probably flickr "galleries" as it allows you to group the bookmarked photos into "boards" that you choose.

I'm surprised that I've only just heard of it really!
