I did some shots for some friends, they've bought a few prints and are very happy but they have asked if they can have some digitally for facebook.

I'm happy to supply them (with a bit of a watermark) but I only want to supply a quality good enough for facebook, not printing. Is this possible and if so what size should I scale to?

cheers

I would probably do 800x600 75dpi and not bother with the watermark. Yeah sure they could probably get some small prints off of those it their that desperate but I doubt its any loss to you in reality. They would probably get better prints scanning the ones they have already bought if they were so minded.

Facebook max resolution is 720 pixels on the widest part of the image. However, now they have made the images appear smaller with some horrible black background for when you click through the images. If you click "refresh" it takes you to the old school way of viewing pictures, in full 720 pixel glory.

Yup, i have my lightroom export preset at 720x720 too. Means that the longest side can only be 720px. This plus my watermark does the job. :)
