I havnt got mac money but a decent pc would be within reach, what pc's do people use for editing ie running lightroom etc fast speed essential

So let me know what you all think on models, just a tower as i have a monitor and mouse etc

i5 + 8-16G of memory.

Thanks il check it out. Need Something better then a laptop

What sort of budget to you have? Is it going to be soley for using Photoshop etc, or do you want something capable of gaming? Have you thought about building your own? Can save quite a chunk building it your self, and is usually easier to upgrade parts further down the line with a self built machine. Intel have just realeased their latest CPU's too, so would expect to see a price drop in the "older" models... Let us know your budget, be happy to spec something up for you.

300-500 quidreally, i know its not alot but if i can turn out a better batch of images then maybe get more work to afford better machine

How about the following:

It pushes you just over budget wise (about £30), but I think would be worth saving a little more for. The system above will easily last you 3-4 years as it is, and could easily be upgraded to i7/16gb further down the line (as prices of the Ivy Bridge processors drop).

The pricing above is taken from scan.co.uk (I am in no way linked to them, they are seen as the the "go-to" site, price wise) If you google "Scan Free Delivery" there are ways of getting it, which would save you a 10er.

EDIT: I assumed you had an OS. If not, will also need to add a copy of Windows 7 (or 8 if you want)

You don't need the graphics card, just use onboard. I'd put the money towards a better SSD. 64G isn't much (I have 73G on my system drive  )

Yeah, couldnt decide whether to include a GPU or not. If you dont plan on doing any gaming, then defo not. Get better SSD instead, this one is decent: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120g...nd-read-530mb-s-write-130mb-s-256mb-cache-85k

All you really need the SSD for is OS, Creative Suite and any other key software. Data will be stored on 1tb mechanical drive.

My two penneth, I agree with the i5 integrated graphics route with an SSD. I've been running this for a couple of years with no problems in PS or LR. Recently upgraded from 8gig RAM to 16gig RAM and a bigger SSD. I'd go no smaller than 120GB for SSD otherwise you'll have to swap it out sooner rather than later for more space. (Assuming media is on another drive)

Sorry to seem stupid but all the things listed means nothing to me, if i was to
Buy it all how the hell do i go about putting it all together?? Just easier to but a tower premade i think

take a look over at www.pcspecialist.co.uk just had mine delivered. Mine is a beast cost me £980 but the equivalent from the high street or usual stockists would have been £1300.

Ok out of your budget but a work colleague who put me in touch with this company had one done for his son £500 and its very very good. If you call them tell them your budget they will spec you one thats perfect for your requirements. cant recommend them enough very professional and dont try and sell you stuff you dont need.
