Yes
I'd be interested to hear what inkjet papers people are using for their wildlife prints

I can't help as I don't do wildlife but it's an interesting question and also raises a wider one - what papers do you all use as a general rule for portraits, landscapes etc..?
I'm pretty new to paper types but have got good results using a matt for mono portraits and am starting to find that oyster, which used to be my go-to is less satisfying now. Sad, because I recently bought a lot!
I found an old box of metallic paper which I used for a fairly busy shot of a Vietnamese woman in a boat with a background of palm fronds and that had a real snap to it.
Sorry for the thread hijack btw taxboy!

I use gloss paper for pretty much all my prints. Mainly Ilford Galerie Smooth Gloss which is (IIRC) 310gsm.

I am genuinely surprised at the lack of response. I thoroughly enjoy printing. I only wish I had an outlet. There are only so many you can put on the wall.
I now fill albums. One for square prints using fotospeeds Baryta 310. Another for A4 both portrait and landscape. Using fotospeeds Legacy Gloss. For A3 landscapes & seascapes I use Fotospeeds NST Bright White 310 signature.
Printing is expensive if like me your a hobbyist, saying that however, I am now disabled so all other hobbies in the past. I simply enjoy seeing my work in print...so rewarding

I use Permajet exclusively. Gloss 270 for birds and animals, Matt white for mono, and Oyster 271 for everything else. Printer is Epson 8550. Always use Epson Print Layout (EPL) .

Next time you are buying paper do try titanium gloss - it's gloss on steroids and so impressive. It's got a metallic sheen/shine that makes everything pop, b/w or colour. I've been reprinting so many of my gloss prints..
I have the same printer, use EPL and select premium gloss paper, high quality - try it - might be worth asking for a sample sheet?

Thanks - I’ll bear it in mind.

I'm not a huge fan of gloss paper but did try out some metallic gloss paper from Pinnacle that came in a sample pack. I used it for a dragonfly image in bright sunshine and it certainly gave it some zing. It certainly does add some punch but like all these things I think you need to try it

Thanks to everyone who has shared their paper choices. I've realised I haven't said what I use..oops ! My paper range is quite wide - having purchased a variety via FB marketplace and eBay
For less saturated wildlife I'm currently using Marrutt Smooth Fine Art Production ( this gives a similar look to Hahnemuhle Museum Etching imo)
For more vivid images I'm using Permajet Oyster and Fotospeed Smooth Pearl or if I want to print larger I've got a box of PJ Photo Art Silk

What's the Art Silk like, how does it compare to your other papers?

If it is paper for bird photography I would suggest using fly paper.;)
If it was for beach photography I would use sand paper.

Under water photography toilet paper would be an option :headbang:

for photogrqaphing car engines I would use greaseproof paper :muted:

maybe for panoramic photos a reel of sellotape for the width :woot:

for a a photo of a room in a house how about using wall paper?:coat:
