I'm looking to upgrade my from D40 and get a D90. At the same time, I'll also be looking to get a new lens. The only problem is I have no idea what to get. I already have a Nikkor 50mm f1.8, 18-55mm kit lens and a Tamron 18-200mm. I'm looking to go into photojournalism once I graduate, so something fast and rugged would be ideal (although I also like taking artistic shot as well). Also, I'll be on a budget, so really nothing ridiculously expensive. Any recommendations are welcome and they don't have to be limited to Nikkor lenses either.
Which are generally the better as well btw, Sigma or Tamron?
